FAMILY GOT A GIANT SNAKE FOR CHRISTMAS!

While the rest of the neighborhood celebrated Christmas days with unwrapping presents and eating warm cookies from the oven with a glass of milk, this family didn’t quite know what to make of this extra scary gift Santa dropped off this year on Christmas day.

“What gift would that be?” you ask?

Well, a giant burmese python in the pool of course!

The Huffington Post writes:

On Christmas, one South Florida family encountered an unwelcomed guest in their pool and it wasn’t a jolly guy with a big white beard.

Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue captured a 13-foot Burmese python in the swimming hole of one Palmetto Bay home. Visit NBCMiami for the full story.

Burmese pythons are classic headline-makers in South Florida. In 2005, one exploded after trying to eat a six-foot alligator whole. And last October, aBurmese python became a celebrity for having a whole 76-pound deer in its belly.

But those two serpentine incidents occurred out in the Everglades. Finding a ravenous constrictor snake in a suburban pool is a different story.

BRAZILIAN CHILD BORN W/ TWO HEADS!

A Brazilian mother expecting twins, birthed a single body with 2 heads instead.

This definitely does not happen everyday, and surely gave the mother, who was told by doctors to expect twins, a very big surprise.

It’s unfortunate when anything is born into this world with birth defects and even sadder when it’s a human child. It’s not uncommon for them to have shortened life-spans due to the many medical complications that are associated with birth defects but, in this instance, it seems life has given these little ones pretty good odds of making it due to them both having full sets of functioning organs.

If you ever get the chance, come on down to visit us on 6th street in downtown Austin, Tx and check out our collection of animals that have been born with all kinds of different mutations, from a one-headed lamb with two bodies to a piglet born with one large eye like a cyclops and a nose that protrudes from its forehead like a alien antenna!

The Huffington Post writes:

One mother learned her baby had two heads just moments before giving birth via Cesarean section in northern Brazil Monday morning.

Doctors say the babies, which have two heads and share one body, are conjoined twins with functioning organs.

The mother did not receive ultrasound scans throughout her pregnancy, but later told doctors she was initially told she was expecting twins, the Daily Mail reports.

The babies each have their own spines but share one heart, liver, pelvis and pair of lungs. She named the boys Jesus and Emanuel.

DEMON-DOG! POSSESSED POODLE RUINS LIVES!

I think this more than qualifies many times over as being weird news! What do you think?

Ever have any possesions or contact with spirits in your life?

Leave us a comment and let us know all about it!

The Huffington Post writes:

Are your children misbehaving at school? Are your loved ones suffering from medical ailments? Is your home infested with bedbugs?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a simple reason you are experiencing these seemingly unrelated misfortunes: Your dog is possessed by a demon.

And, thankfully, there’s a simple solution: A $197 pendant sold by a woman who claims her poodle was inhabited by a demonic spirit.

But wait, there’s more!

New York artist Olga Horvat started designing demon-deterring accessories after she adopted Princess, a pure-bred toy poodle that she credits — or blames — for literally tearing her life into pieces.

RARE BRIGHT BLUE LOBSTER SAVED FROM DINNER

This beautiful blue lobster was born with a genetic mutation that turned him a bright, electric-blue rather than the dark, midnight-blue that just about all the other “blue” lobsters are born as. One fisherman just couldn’t let the little guy make it to somone’s dinner table so he scooped him up and gave him to a local aquarium for the world to see, how nice!

The Daily Mail writes:

An incredible electric-blue lobster has been saved from the dinner table after it was spotted at a fish market and rehomed.

The striking crustacean was found by stunned fishermen off the east coast of Scotland and displayed for sale at a fish market in London.

However, fishmonger Rex Goldsmith thought the stunning lobster was too nice to eat and bought it before handing it over to researchers at the Natural History Museum.

Scientists at the museum believe the European lobster, traditionally a much darker shade of blue, hatched out with the unusual colour due to a rare genetic variant.

WORLDS LARGEST INSECT FOUND JUST YESTERDAY!

This newly discovered and not-so-little weta bug being fed a carrot like a pet! photo courtesy of The Sun.

Everytime you think you’ve seen all the crazy bugs out there and finally decide that they aren’t so scary, THIS guy comes along!

The Sun writes:

AN EXPLORER has found the biggest insect ever on record – so large it can scoff a carrot.

She’s called a Weta Bug and has a huge wing span of SEVEN inches and weighs as much as three mice.

Former park ranger Mark Moffett, 55, discovered the cricket-like creature up a tree on New Zealand’s Little Barrier Island.

He spent two days searching for the creepy crawly which were thought to be extinct after Europeans brought rats to the island many years ago.

American Mark, 53, said: “Three of us walked the trails of this small island for two nights scanning the vegetation for a giant weta.

“We spent many hours with no luck finding any at all, before we saw her up in a tree.

“The giant weta is the largest insect in the world, and this is the biggest one ever found.

BORN W/ OUT BACK LEGS, PIG WALKS ON FRONT LEGS!

This pig born without front legs is learning to walk on his front ones.

Here’s another great example of where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Seeing animals with birth defects isn’t uncommon in the world of mass breeding of animals, and this little guy definitely did not get the worst of it. Here at the Museum of the Weird we have a few of the rarer kind on display like our siamese piglets, cyclops pig, 2-headed calf and chicken as well as a slew of other freaks of nature.

You should come check them out!

Here’s video of this awesome pig doing his thing!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=621AyBKLUow#!

The Huffington Post writes:

This pig won’t let the world bring him down.

According to the video’s Youtube description (as translated by Google Translate), this hog was reportedly born in July without any hind legs, but nonetheless learned to walk.

Nearby Chinese villagers call it “strong pig.” And we think it’s fair to say he is quite athletic, as he carries all 66 pounds of his own body weight over its head.

But is his talent enough to keep him from becoming bacon? We don’t know for sure, but we definitely hope so. If Charlotte could save Wilbur, handstands better be able to save this little guy.

It’s also necessary to note that though this video was uploaded just a few days ago, there’s always a chance this video is old, or possibly not even real. While it can’t be confirmed either way, it’s still a sight to see.

TURKEY SEEKS REVENGE!

Thanksgiving 2012?

It seems as though one turkey in particular wasn’t quite in the holiday spirit this year.

MSNBC writes:

PENN HILLS, Pa. — A wild turkey apparently flew into an Eat’n Park restaurant on — of all days — Thanksgiving.

The 15-pound turkey was found among a pile of shattered glass on the carpet near some booth tables around 3 p.m.

Nobody was inside the restaurant on Frankstown Road, which was closed for the holiday.

Penn Hills police Officer Bernard Sestili responded when the building’s alarm went off. He said the turkey flew into the window and was not thrown.

“Probably was roosted in one of the trees in this wooded area back here, got up this morning and went for his morning flight and flew into the window,” Sestili said. “Fighting back, on Thanksgiving — how ironic.”

OCTOPUS COMES OUT OF WATER AND WALKS!

To travel between salt-water holes, octopi will come out of the water and literally walk.

Now, this is fascinating!

This little dude just gets up and climbs out of the water, just feet away from people and a camera, to travel to another tide pool AND he’s carrying a crab the whole time!

This guy must be used to humans ’cause he doesn’t give making himself ridiculously vulnerable a second thought.

Watch the video below:

The Huffington Post writes:

Onlookers at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach, Calif. were shocked when this octopus crawled out of the water and began walking on dry land.

Apparently this type of behavior is not that uncommon, though it is rarely seen up close. Scientists have observed octopuses using their limbs to walk along the ocean floor, some even doing so using only two of their eight limbs.

In these cases, the other limbs are used “tocamouflage themselves as plant material in order to hide from lurking predators,” according to a report from MSNBC.

MEET THE WORLD’S SMALLEST 2-HEADED TURTLE!

Meet Teeny & Tiny, possibly the world's smallest 2-headed turtle.

Now these guys are just adorable!

Looks like the Venice Beach Freakshow has got themselves another awesome curiosity!

We have a few of these kinds of oddities of nature of our own here in Austin, Tx at The Museum Of The Weird.

The Huffington Post writes:

Good things come in small packages — if you happen to be a collector of two-headed animals.

Todd Ray, who runs the Venice Beach Freakshow in Los Angeles, which features a variety of two-headed creatures as well as a five-legged dog, now believes his latest addition to his multi-headed menagerie is the biggest … and the smallest.

The creature in question is a two-headed razorback musk turtle that is about six months old and the size of a nickel.

One head of the two-headed turtle is named “Teeny” and the other is “Tiny” and Ray says both sides are “adorable.”

They may also be record breakers.

“I believe they are the smallest two-headed turtles ever,” Ray said, adding that he has owned many two-headed turtles over the years and never seen any as tiny as Teeny and Tiny.

FOOTAGE OF CANADA’S OWN “NESSY”, THE OGOPOGO?!

Recent footage from Lake Okanagan in British Columbia has stirred up some fun in the media recently.
Global BC writes:

Note: CHBC News regrets the attribution to Richard Huls that he saw the Ogopogo, rather Huls claims to have seen an object in the water and does not know what it was.

The video of a possible Ogopogo sighting in Okanagan Lake has caught the eye of international media.

Two weeks ago, West Kelowna resident Richard Huls said he captured video of something in the water.

“It proves something is down there. Whether it’s Ogopogo or not, it is a different story but there is something at least down there,” Huls said.

“It was not a wave, just a darker colour. The size and the fact that they were not parallel with the waves made me think it had to be something else,” he said.
