A TRUE “LIVING FOSSIL” EEL/FISH DISCOVERED!

I can’t believe we’re still finding new animals in the water all around the world, wait, yes I can because we’ve only explored 70% of our oceans! I’m sure there are still hundreds if not thousands of new things to discover. Who’s up for an adventure?

Cryptomundo writes:

The Proceedings of Royal Society B, 2011, is noting the discovery of a new species of fish.  Their article is published here, and is entitled, “A ‘living fossil’ eel (Anguilliformes: Protoanguillidae, fam. nov.) from an undersea cave in Palau.”

REAL PICTURE OF A GRIM REAPER?!?!

Now THIS is intense!

Ozarksfirst.com writes:

(Springfield, MO) — The Ozark Mountain Paranormal Investigation Team has explored some of the areas most haunted homes.

Their skeptical team members always take hundreds of pictures in the dark.

But their most recent trip brought back a shocking image that is making believers out of the biggest of skeptics.

“The first thing I want to do is disprove it.” says Robert McCall, skeptic and co-founder of the Ozark Mountain Paranormal Investigation Team.*

Robert spends a lot of time disproving apparent haunting in the region.   “A lot of times people think there is a presence in the room and it turns out the room is where the breaker box is.  Or your meters on the outside of the wall and there is a lot of energy there.  Sometimes people think they are hearing things and it turns out they are just hearing things.”

But something that happened during his latest ghost hunt left Robert with no explanation.  A family in north Springfield contacted the group because of some odd things that were happening.

“All the lights were shut off and the doors were locked,” says Robert.  ” I came around to lock up the front door and as soon as I turned the corner I heard a growling disturbance on my EVP and seen something darker then dark move around in the hallway so I just started taking pictures of a completely dark hallway with nobody there.”

There was no one in the hallway but something else showed up on camera.
“When I first seen the picture, I saw a reaper,” says McCall.  “Typical of what you would think.”  Now it almost looks like a mother and child.”

MAN COULD HEAR HIS OWN EYEBALLS MOVING IN HIS HEAD!

Such a weird defect of the human hearing system that I had to put it up here.

Telegraph.co.uk writes:

Stephen Mabbutt, 57, from Charlton, near Banbury, could also hear his own heart beating.

Mr Mabbutt first experienced symptoms six years ago, when he felt a dull ache in the side of his head.

GPs treated him with nasal sprays and antibiotics, but his hearing deteriorated. Mr Mabbutt was eventually diagnosed with an unusual ear condition in which sounds inside the body are heard very loudly. The condition meant that the noise from chewing food became deafening.

His symptoms worsened to the extent where loud noises caused dizziness and his vision blurred.

Mr Mabbutt told the BBC: “When I raised my voice I could hear it reverberating in my head and the vibrations made my vision vibrate.

“Eventually I could hear my heart beating and my eyes moving in their sockets. It was really distracting.”

YOU CAN KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE TO LOSE YOUR HEAD!

This is just so bizarre I couldn’t even begin to imagine the horror.

Seattle Pi writes:

Imagine yourself with your head in the business end of a guillotine. I know, it’s not the most pleasant of thoughts, but the guillotine was once considered a humane way to kill someone: Just a quick slice and you’re flat-out dead.

But researchers are finding that neurons, the cells that make up the brain, are active even after their blood supply is suddenly cut off. And they may show activity for longer than a minute, according to a Science News report.

So, imagine yourself in the guillotine again. Once that big blade comes swooshing down and your head rolls away, are you still aware? Could you see the world around you? Might you actually experience the horrific reality that is your head removed from your body – for a minute or more?

In an arguably not-so-humane study, Dutch scientists measured the brain activity in mice after slicing off the mice’s heads. What they saw was a quick flash of brain activity immediately following decapitation – then, about 50 seconds later, another ripple of activity, Science News reports.

WORLDS MOST WICKED BIKE!

I’ve wanted a nice motorcycle for a while. I’ve been looking at all kinds of different styles and decided I wanted something simple, elegant and classy. Now, I want a crazy dragon bike that shoots fire after seeing what’s possible from this guy!

Dailymail.co.uk writes:

This remarkable motorbike looks like it’s straight out of a film set – but remarkably an artist has made it out of spare parts.

The Bangkok worker used recycled materials from old cars and bicycles to create a monster machine which is sculpted to look like a beast.

Despite being cobbled together from scrap parts, the spectacular motorcycle works – unlike many sci-fi film props.

Roongrojna Sangwongprisarn, 54, created it out of spare parts in his workshop in Thailand. He has four shops across the country – named the Ko Art Shop – and exports his creations to clients all over the world.

PLANET OF THE APES IS A REAL POSSIBILITY!

I already feel like this life we’re in is a giant movie anyways, this is just further proof we need to stop everything, chill out and relax.

Dailymail.co.uk writes:

It sounds like something from a Hollywood science fiction film: a race that is half human, half ape.

But leading scientists are today demanding tough new rules to prevent the nightmare scenario becoming a reality.

In a hard-hitting report, they warn  that research is close to pushing ‘ethical boundaries’ and that extreme attempts to  give laboratory animals human attributes must be banned.

Professor Martin Bobrow, a medical geneticist at Cambridge University and co-author of the report, said society needed to set rules before scientists began experiments that the public would find unacceptable.

He added: ‘We are trying to get this out in the open before anything has happened.’

THE FUTURE IS HERE! A FLYING SPHERE IS REALITY!

It’s only a matter of time until this technology is applied to a vehicle that can seat a human being!

Dailymail.co.uk writes:

Its Japanese developers call it the ‘Futuristic Circular Flying Object’ and it’s designed to go where humans can’t.

The radio-controlled sphere, roughly the size of a basketball, was built for search and rescue operations, specifically to fly in and out of buildings weakened by earthquakes or other natural disasters.

The device uses its onboard camera to transmit live images of whatever it sees.

Fumiyuki Sato, at the Japanese Defense Ministry’s Technical Research and Development Institute, invented and built the vehicle for roughly 110,000 yen (£865 / $1,390) with parts purchased off the shelf at consumer electronics stores.

He said: ‘Because of its spherical shape, it can land in various positions and tumble to move around the ground.’

It zips through the air, glides smoothly around corners, and negotiates staircases with ease, all the while emitting a soft hum.

WORLD RECORD FOR MOST FINGERS AND TOES!

As much as we see and hear of weirds things from the past, here’s something from right now.

Huffingtonpost.com writes:

Count’em up. This young man born with 34 fingers and toes set a Guinness World Record for most digits.

Akshat Saxena had seven fingers on each hand and 10 toes on each foot when he was born in India in 2010, a Guinness spokeswoman told The Huffington Post.

“I was so happy to see my baby as it was our first child,” his mother Amrita Saxena told NDTV. “But later, when I saw his fingers, I was shocked and surprised.”

Doctors recently amputated the excess appendages in a series of surgeries and now Saxena has the typical five digits per limb, the Guinness spokeswoman said.

This prodigious polydactyl wasn’t born with thumbs, but doctors planned to create them with pieces of the extra figners, The Hindustan Times reported.

ATLANTIS FOUND OFF OF THE COAST OF SPAIN!

Maybe, we can finally get some answers to all those questions we’ve been asking for so long. Who lived there? What was the cities purpose? What caused it and it’s people to disappear and was the entire thing a giant spaceship that just one day took off into space?

MSNBC writes:

Atlantis, the legendary metropolis believed swamped by a tsunami thousands of years ago, in mud flats in southern Spain.

“This is the power of tsunamis,” head researcher Richard Freund told Reuters.

“It is just so hard to understand that it can wipe out 60 miles inland, and that’s pretty much what we’re talking about,” said Freund, a professor at the University of Hartford who led an international team searching for the true site of Atlantis.

To solve the age-old mystery, the team analyzed satellite imagery of a suspected submerged city just north of Cadiz, Spain. There, buried in the vast marshlands of the Dona Ana Park, they believe that they pinpointed the ancient, multiringed dominion known as Atlantis.

How has this only now just happened and when will we get a mass producton of these? I will put a down payment on one of these bad boys right now!

dailymail.co.uk writes:

It’s a car that would make any man proud, including Batman.

An aspiring racing driver and Batman fanatic has created the world’s first road-legal jet turbine powered Batmobile – which can reach speeds of 180mph.

Casey Putsch spent five months painstakingly piecing together the amazing replica car using everything from aerospace materials to polycarbonate.

But his favourite feature on the incredible bat car is a military spec turbine engine used in a drone helicopter by the Navy to drop torpedoes on enemy submarines.
